Some words about Valère

I am Belgian. French is my mother language but I also speak english, dutch and german.

I lived in Belgium until December 2003 and moved to San Antonio, TX in January 2004.

When I was young, I did a little bit of gymnastics but never in competition. Later I learned to juggle and performed in street circus shows.

I discovered sports acrobatics in the school year 1985-86 during a coaching course given by Guy Van der Marlière. I though that it was the perfect combination of gymnastics and circus and became a sports acrobatics fan.

Between 1987 and 2003, I have been active in the development of sports acrobatics in Belgium, especially in the french speaking part of Belgium where the level is much lower than in Flanders.
I organsied the Belgium Championships in 1996, 1998 and 2003 and had the honor of being chosen as head of the belgian delegation at the 2002 world championships in Riesa, Germany.

I am a national rated judge in Belgium since 1995 and in the States since 2004.
